Cowboy charcoal briquets at Costco in St. Louis

Costco in South County has 36 pounds (two 18# bags) for $15.99. I’ve already tried it, and it started fine, burned hot and went forever.

I saw that too.  Will be buying some today.  Excellent deal for an all hardwood briquette.  Glad you have some data in performance.   That was my main concern but it’s a low $ risk.

IRRC that is the new name for the old Stubb's briqs everyone loved a few years ago.  Duraflame dropped Stubb's and renamed it as one version of the cowboy briqs.  Goto the cowboy site and check the FAQs.

Never tried their briquettes, but really like their hardwood lump.

I’ve only bought a dozen bags of a Cowboy, but I noticed different versions of their briquets. So far, if the paper seal at the top of the bag is black, the briqs are smooth sided and really fat, with no ridges. If it is white, they are a bit smaller and have the wavy lines on the sides, and don’t burn as long. Both burn good, but I look for the black seal.

Where in the south county store is the charcoal?  Here right now and can’t find it.  Stock dude said they won’t have charcoal until mid February…

Sorry, just saw your post. All the way in the back corner of the store, past the paper towels an toilet paper. But it’s been selling fast, so they might not have any left.

I just found this at my Costco in Lake in the hills.
Grabbed 4 bags to try out.
Not a bad deal at 15.99 for 36lbs

It wasn't where I would expect to find it.
Normally, it is by the bottled water, laundry detergent and softener salt. Today it was by the beer and liqour.
