Yachtsman rebuild[emoji169]

Credit to my wonderful wife.  This was my Christmas present from her and it’s taken a while to get in shape.  Needed vent repair and a socket fixed.  She did a grate job repainting these wheels.  Btw, acrylic paint pens are awesome.   Better than brushing. 

I’m blessed to have a wife that puts up with my grill obsession.

Nice looking RRR on the yachtsman.  Did you use 8-32 screws to repair the leg sockets?

I don’t recall exactly.  Sounds about right.  Stainless of course.  Two vents needed repair, too.

Would also love to see how you reattached the socket, that is, if you have pics! Brian Moriarty did several of my kettles leg sockets, a yachtsman as well, and I'd love to see how you did it. Beautiful restore! It will now live a long life!

Thanks.   I’m flattered.  The acrylic pen was easier.   No brush strokes.  The pen is angled so it’s easy to make sharp lines. 
 

Large fender washer with a small washer and nut.   

Small bolt about the same size as the indentation in the part of the socket that flares out to attach.   8-32 is probably right.  Most hardware stores have a die to match your bit to the bolt/ screw size.  Use new drill bits.  Go slow.
