Family Time
« on: April 16, 2021, 09:34:22 AM »
Taking the evening to kick back relax and spend some time with the family. Decided to do a pork shoulder. I haven’t ever rubbed one down with mustard before. Added the mustard, Salt Lick Origional, and some Killer Hogs the BBQ Rub. Getting ready to fire up the kettle. Will add more pucks as we go.

I usually use mustard and have had good success with Killer Hogs products.  Enjoy your time with the family!

I usually use mustard myself as a base layer before putting the rub down. This past weekend I did four slabs of ribs rubbed down with Spiceology's smoked honey habanero and skipped the mustard. Ribs did not seem as smokey and they were missing something in the flavor Department.
I will not be skipping it again.

After looking at the picture again, it was NOT salt lick original! SL Garlic.

4 hour later. Removed and placed in the crock pot. Couple more hours=bone removal, and shred. Out side crispy...so stinking good.
