Help me out. The Sweeps are shot. Broke off the handle and the thumb screw. I have tried
To drill out the center screw from the top and the bottom. No I am out of ideas to get the old
Style sweeps out.. any ideas?
Also can I put the new H style on the SSP (1999) or do I have to upgrade the ring??

If have a dremel, cut the ends of the rod off with a cutoff wheel where the arrows in the pic are as close to the hex bolt as possible.  With bowl upside down, it should then fall through with gravity or light tapping.

You can use new H style sweeps but you won't need the flat washer that comes with it.  The old bar that holds the ash bucket is too thick (and takes the place of the flat washer) so you'll have to sand or grind it to fit.  It will work thereafter.  Mine was a little tight but loosened after use.

Cut the shirt side 1st it gives you a handle to help not get loose while cutting. Hack saw works too if needed.
