Can someone help me identify this version of a Weber Kettle that has a horizontal line or indentation a few inches below top of the kettle? It is a K code. No straps in the bowl. The food grate rest in a groove...very different.

If I recall correctly, those were Webers made for Kmart or Sears, or similar retailer.  In lieu of welded grate straps, the stamped ring to hold the grate was a cost-cutting measure.

I think (but I could be wrong), those came after Weber bought Happy Cooker. They were retailer exclusives for Sears, K mart and possibly others.

Thanks for the information. Here is a picture after cleaning it this morning. Still need to redo the wooden handles and get a K code lid air damper. If anyone has a spare let me know.
