This may be heresy, but has anyone tried Green Egg brand charcoal?  I was looking at a bag, seem to be decent size lumps, and they name specific woods used.

Ken, isn't BGE charcoal in America just rebranded royal oak? Not sure what it is in Aus.

I know it's rebranded something, I just can't recall what. Someone go reference the "lump charcoal database." I'm logged on through a County network, so I'm not gotta type that url.  ;D

QuoteThis is some nice lump. It is manufactured by Royal Oak for Big Green Egg. We have heard rumors that Royal Oak saves their best lump for BGE. We have reviewed Royal Oak's own brand and found it to be as good as the BGE lump.

It's priced a little too rich for my blood. $22 and up for a 20 lb sack.
