Sneak Peak of the 2014 Weber Galley-Que
« on: June 30, 2013, 02:31:16 PM »
Well it's about time Weber decided to bring these back. They made a few changes and are offering it in turquoise, white and black. I notice they are even using the exclusive Oneal handle design on these. The boat mounting gimbal hardware (not pictured) will also be included. They also did away with the ash catcher since that design came before the Smokey Joe Gold with side mounted vents. Notice they also went with a smaller top lid vent like the older Smokey Joe's had. I'm glad they also decided to keep the wire that keeps the lid from blowing overboard.

Here's what the color looks like in person. The others were taken in direct sun.

Wow, that's gorgeous. I'm having a hard time believing thats a 2014 model though! Where did you get it? I guess I don't even know when the 2014 models come out.

I think he just added a lid cable lol there isn't anything different other than that. It's "missing" the galley mount since its preproduction

Yeah, I was just having a little fun. If weber made one today I highly doubt they would add the ashdome. I like the looks of it too, but the SJG design is more practical for a boat. I added all SS hardware and a few other things like the galley style spacers on ether side. You don't really see charcoal grills on boats much anymore. We kept a regular smokey joe on my friends boat, but rarely ever used it while on the water unless we went over the fish limit, (if you know what I mean  ;)). We just used it at the dock or at the shop.

Hey look at my post number!  :o I need to make the next one special since I get some free swag for the 5000 post here!  ;)

Interesting. Looks like the SJG my D-I-L got as a premium from Pampered Chef. At least that's where it looks like yours started.

Lol, I wasn't fooled but that is pretty cool. Soooo is that really a 70's SJ? painted or not? The only thing that is throwing me off is the little top vent with that blue color

I hadn't noticed that. the new one has a 4 hole vent.

Color looks different too, though that could be lighting and/or white balance.
