Picked this up the other day. E code so from what I've picked up here in the forums, it was produced in 1983. The kettle itself is in really nice condition. The one touch is not. It's seized and stuck tight. I may have to cut it off.. The exhaust wheel tab is also a little bent, guess that's not a bear to fix.  I plan to start cleaning it up this week. Anyone have a good source for wood handles? All suggestions and info greatly welcomed. I think for $20 it was a steal
Guess my file size was too large with the pics I tried to attach. Working on it

Very nice brownie, congrats!  It should clean up nicely.  I acquired an F code earlier this year in similar shape.  With a bit of elbow grease, new sweeps, handles and grates it'll shine.  Here's how mine turned out....and one shot with his older brother, a '78.  Brownies look really amazing after a good scour with an SOS pad.

Great find! I check the boards regularly but see very few listings on OfferUp in my region lately.

Don't give up on the one-touch too soon. Many times they can be coaxed into working condition. Careful cleaning (don't bend them up) and patience can work wonders. I've had good luck using Deep Creep penetrant by Sea Foam. Sometimes a little heat helps too.

Thanks Charred, that's good advice. I'll try both suggestions. If anyone knows where to have wood handles refinished, let me know. Thanks for the pointers mates!

Single screw wood handles are fairly easy to refinish.  Lightly sand with #0000 steel wool or 150 grit sandpaper.  Wipe with a clean cloth and then apply a couple of coats of Helmsman Spar Varnish.  You can purchase spray cans of Helmsman Spar Varnish at Lowes.

For twin rivet wood handles the same sanding process is used but I use hand rubbed coats of Tung Oil on them.

Great Cellar, on it. They used single screw in 83

Started breaking the 83 E code down today. Found this on the one touch propeller. I didn't know this item was marked with patent info as well. Makes sense though. Hard to make out but it gives pat # for Aus, Can, US etc

Started the cleanup/teardown on the offer up kettle find. It wasn't too bad, a little elbow grease and a few tools made a big difference. I may replace the grates, wheels and I'll certainly refinish the wood handles. A trip to cheapo depot for a few items ($12) and about 3hrs of actual work led to this. Would have been less but dad duties always take precedence haha.

Used the trash can to prop the bowl on while working. Im 6'3 and OLD, so it helped save the back lol. I walk around like Frankenstein after these projects usually

Thanks Charred! You were right, I used the deep creep and took my time. It cleaned up very nice and works well again. Appreciate the direction
