I found a good deal today to (I hope) on OfferUp.  Clean 22" smoker for $75 and came with Weber chimney and many bags of wood.  Any upgrades like lavalock or temp grommet that I need to do right off the bat?

Very nice find!  I'd recommend trying it out as is for a few cooks and see what you'd like to add/upgrade (if anything).  Most seem to like them stock.  Question I'd have is, is it complete?  Water bowl, charcoal basket and grates present?  If not, then you may considering purchasing non-original parts that would be considered an upgrade.  Personally, I love the upgrades I've done and was able to do them due to the original deal I got on a used 22" very similar to yours.  See my thread "pimped my WSM" in the WSM section for details.  Congrats!

I agree with Bama if it's complete cook on it a few times to learn it and then decide what you want to do.  Oh BTW you got grate deal!
Wanted: 18" Platinum any color will work
This is my Kettle there are many like it but this one is mine......

It is fully complete.  I cleaned it today and fired it up tonight.  I think it needs seal tape, casters and the only thing I needed to order was a new thermostat...which I did today.

I'd offer that you skip the temp grommet. Put a discrete notch in the lip for your temp wires and call it a day. That baby will run great and it's stock configuration have fun with it!

One of the best deals I've seen, I would buy a few at that price

Great deal. I picked up the cajun bandit door and latch for my WSM and it helped keep the temps more consistent.  Get some cooks under your belt and see how it runs before making any significant mods.

That's an awesome deal on a 22" wsm, congrats on the score.

I agree with what others have said, cook on it a few times.

I've been cooking on the same 18" wsm for 19 years and 22" for nine years. Both are stock with no mods.

@bamakettles has some nice looking mods on his 22" wsm

Good luck and post a few cook pics

I know I'm piggybacking off you awesome score. Mine isn't a 22 but just picked up a 18 for 75. It's a 2015 and it will be my first real WSM I made a mini but excited to clean it and get it to work.

I swear, when I score a great deal on a 26" I'll stop buying grills... So often.
