Interesting feedback from Weber. I always put my top vent over the food. I think Weber used to tell you to do this, too.

I wonder about this often. I always keep vent on opposite side. But the space on a kettle is small enough, that it seems like the heat and smoke will hit the meat no matter where the vent is positioned.
