New Addition

Not really a grill, but is a Weber, so I guess this is the place to post....if not please move it gracious mods.

Found a decent shape Weber Fireplace this week.  Handles were metal and rust, and lots of rusty nuts and bolts.  Legs needed some attention as well just above the heat deflector.  Some crazing on the bottom, to be expected I guess.  I replaced all nuts and bolts with stainless steel and added extra washers, lock washers and fiber washers inside and out on the handles.  Scoured top to bottom with brillo pads and finished off with a set of Zavod handles.  Turned out pretty nice, and I'm happy that there wasn't much rust on the rings and risers to deal with.  Will try it out when it gets cool out!  Here’s some before and after shots....

Lots of hardware on these...old nuts and bolts and packaging for the SS hardware.

Nice! I really need to find one of these. Always seem to be a little too far or too late.

I bought one a few weeks back for $20. It was in bad shape. Previous owner left the cover on it for it seems like years. The cover shrank over the fire pit and caused all sorts of rust and the wooden handles crumbled apart. I gave it a nice facelift.

Are you using a cover for your fire pit? I can't store mine inside and am looking for a cover for it so I can keep it stored with the middle section in place.

Yes, it came with a cover that looks pretty much new.  Using it for now unless it leaks through - have not tested that yet.

The cover that came with mine had shrunk so much that I literally had to use a knife to cut the cover off the pit. I'll browse around Amazon for a replacement.
