Howdy!  I just found this forum but had my kettle for years, it's a 22" premium kettle.

Originally, growing up in Libertyville, IL, for 7 long cold years, my dad always had a Weber kettle.  To this day, that's his #1 grill.

I'm a low and slow guy, having Brinkmans (I used a free-to-me smokey joe base for my firebox after mine rusted out, for years!), pellet smokers, and now the kettle.  So it's used mainly for grilling and offset smoking.

I'm into modding, so I'm looking at things I can add to it (upgraded grates, smoker/spacer, rotisserie, etc.) and other methods of indirect cooking.

The pellet smoker is like an oven -  set and forget.  But it's refreshing to be playing with fire again, even if I have to shower afterwards.  :-)

Man, learning about the history of Weber and all these cool kettle colors has been eye-opening!  Now I want to get a few more and build a table for them...

With our weather down here in the South, I can put the Weber to work 12 months a year.

See you around!

Welcome from Huntsville, AL!  Nice to see some locals here.  Enjoy the fun and share some cooks and pics when you can.  Really nice group here and so much knowledge shared readily.  I've learned a ton here and am so thankful for them.  War Eagle!

I swear, when I score a great deal on a 26" I'll stop buying grills... So often.
