Master touch premium problem

Hi all, first post so be gentle  :)
I recently picked up a MTP second hand, the top doesn't seem to seal correctly, I have adjusted the brackets at the rear several different ways but with no joy, or maybe this is  normal when using it for smoking, this is my first grill and new to this so maybe it is normal
