Gents,

Saw this posted in my area, owner says it's all still functional. Just needs a little TLC. I also just already bought it, so I may be up the river without a paddle too...but hey we'll find out.

The wood looks a bit crusty. Anyone know how to restore the wood?

Nice find.  I like the color!

nice score, it appears to be Durawood, I think if you did a search on durawood you should find some restore tips here, I am no expert but there are plenty of guys who restore these here

Hauled her in today. Looks to be in fairly decent shape. Needs a good scrub, but the burners and falvorizer bars look solid. I'll automatically replace ignition anyway. Definitely needs a new drip pan and grill grates.

Anyone know what was supposed to go on the left side of the lid? Seems to be missing

I am no expert but from what I have read the left side  had available on many models a end cap to allow you to hang tools from and a swing up table. Yhe Duran wood lots of people replace with cedar or red wood my choice for a better look. From what I can see you seem to have picked up a good deal,  a few hours of cleaning, buff out the lid replace the wood and you are good for many years. I would check whit folks hear about the swing up table handy work space or you may be able to buy new off one of the Weber parts web sites. Congrats on your project love to see finished product when you are done.

Got it registered. Turns out it's a Spirit 900 LP from 96'. I was almost certain that it was a 1000 Genesis.

Got a fun weekend restore ahead of me. Spent about ~$150 in new parts. The most expensive being the grill grates, since the grates that came with it were from another grill altogether overlapping each other . The Flavorizer bars are solid and it needed a new grease tray

Thanks for all of the info guys.

Take your time, do it right, and that 900 will make you a great cooker.

Thanks! I'm not either. I easily use my Performer more. This was a just a good quarantine project to help pass the time, and to also have gas for the Mrs. convenience.
