While i check the boards daily, I failed to do so on Tuesday. As luck would have it a NIB late 80's Redhead was posted that I missed.

Shout-out to @WeberKell11 for sending me a text alerting me of the posting. I contacted the seller who was literally a mile from my house. And the wait began...

Received an agent request from @CatskillSmoker. I replied that I was on that one as well but I would happily agent if seller got back to him first. Collin replied "if they get back to him first, it's yours." Now that's a stand up guy!

Both Collin and I got word from the seller on Wednesday that she had someone picking it up the next day. Bummer.

I received a text later that evening asking if I would be interested in a NIB Little Pal. Ok, it's not a Weber but it looked like a cool little grill. So I said sure I'll take it and we made arrangements for a Saturday pickup.

Late Wednesday night, I get another text and seller said she found another red grill in the shed that looked un-used, would I be interested in that one as well the Little Pal for a Saturday pickup??? Absolutely!

Now the wheels are spinning and I'm thinking there's a good chance that the Thursday buyer will snag this new "shed find," before my arranged Saturday pick up.

Well, I was absolutely wrong about that.

I received a text from the seller Thursday evening after the NIB kettle was picked up.  She said she had received quite an education on Weber's and their collectibility from the buyer.  He was even a member of some club (imagine that ).

She went on to say that she had lost her husband a year ago and he was a grill fanatic.  She wanted to let me know that she had one more grill behind the shed for me to consider on Saturday.

She said, "the nice young man from the club says it a 26" grill and that it's in decent shape for its age but missing the cooking grate."

Ok, now I couldn't wait to get over there fast enough. I texted back that I was definitely interested in all three and asked if I could swing by. She had plans and wanted to stick with Saturday.

Well here they are...

the cattywompass EO Flat top is going to need work but I love it already.

The red had indeed remained unused for the last 30 years until tonight.

Seller was pleased that her husband's grills were going to be appreciated.

And lastly, I want to thank the unknown club member for his integrity.

Nice score.  I don't know if it is the lighting or the fade, but that red looks really nice.
