The SS Double Trouble is a work in progress, but done enough to smoke a turkey today. Crossfire Cranberry Salsa is on the playlist.

Nice work in progress Marty!

What are the rest of the plans for this beast of a chimera kettle/smoker?

Never heard of cranberry salsa. I'm going to the store now. Thanks!

It's a Steve Raichlen recipe - he calls it Hellfire, but Crossfire fit into the SRV theme better.

Thanks. I'm thinking of some kind of vertical rack between the kettle and WSM. I can see it in my mind, but that does not always translate into something useful.  I don't really need a table, and there's really not room in between unless I add a fold out that makes the whole thing into a T shape. I'll keep thinking through the Winter. With luck I'll have it done by Mod Month 2020.  ::)

Progress. The nice thing about a big gasser is that you can finish at a higher temp. The nice thing about the 18.5 WSM is that the you can lift the grate with the turkey on it and transfer it - grate and all - to the Summit. Don't expect plated pics - the natives are restless.

Is it hard to access the bottom grate on the wsm? I like the brackets

Not at all, but I'm 6'3". It's really not as tall as you think. Besides, I tend to take the entire mid-section off (see the little knobs on the side?) and set if on the ground to tend the coals if and when needed. Lid, food, water bowl - everything comes off. I hate using the door. It can be a bit heavy (like it was today) but so far no disasters. I could not do that with a 22.5 WSM.

The brackets are a version of the originals I had made a while back. I had this in an 18.8 Platinum cart using those. Fitting it to the SS Performer required deeper brackets. I really like this setup.

Wife: Let me guess... you want to grill again

I saw those knobs! I want to put my 22 into this gen2 performer cart. I have too many wants right now.
