Anyone have any experience cooking on Stok's universal porcelain coated cast iron grates? Thinking about picking up a used Stok just for the grate, then flipping the kettle with a regular Weber 22" SS grate. Thanks for any input!

Those are in much better shape than mine were. They were completely orange from surface rust. I reconditioned with a brass wire attachment on my drill then cycled in the Gasser with oil. I am a big fan. All my GBS attachments fit as well.

I have one and a few of the inserts. It works great.

The Stok flip for the grate is a great move. I've done it a couple times. One grill was in great shape so I flipped it, the other was beat (and real cheap) so I was able to keep the "vortex" piece as well, aka poortex. Works pretty good imo.

I was able to get a Stok grate earlier this year... definitely recommend it! The only negative is a lack of handles... so if you need to pick it up, you'll need a grate lifter - I use one of these:  https://www.amazon.com/Charcoal-Companion-CC1089-Grill-Lifter/dp/B00QCDI57E

Heyjude

@solidgoldstein

You don't actually have a 22 SS grate, do you?  Those are hard to come by.. Just making sure.
I don't care if you don't like my Avatar, its there for me..

I have had the StoK CI grate and centerpiece, along with the StoK cast Iron Kettle for years. All quality stuff!
Multiple kettles and WSM's. I am not a collector, just a gatherer... and a sick bastard.
