Seville project
« on: July 13, 2019, 04:21:31 AM »
Big thank you to Chiku18 and his family friend who picked up a Seville cart for me at the end of last year.  I’m really grateful to have such an awesome grillfella agent for me on so many occasions.

I can’t be certain, but I think it was originally painted a dark green and it has since developed a nice patina. The cart will receive a very light restoration.  The wheels spin freely and the rubber treads are intact, I can see the original white peeking through.  The casters roll easily too, but I think I need to get the attachments welded because the weight of the cart on the casters don’t allow them to swivel in the right direction easily.

Since I don’t have an original kettle with brackets, I’ll have to use a Performer bowl.  I tried a few different color combinations including blue, black, and gray, but eventually settled on red.  I just think it looks great against the dark green.

And since I’m using a modern bowl with gas-assist, I’m thinking this project may turn into some kind of griddle/wok station.  I haven’t decided yet, but here are some pictures of the first cook, burgers with mushrooms onions and provolone.

Thanks for looking.

Huge potential in that cart.  I love the “resto-mod” approach.

Looks close.  Maybe even less of an inch to the bottom tray.  Crazy. lol.

I love Sevilles!  Still really kick myself in the butt from not buying Joel’s.

Yours looks great!  The modern bowl with gas assist is genius!

NICE.  I bought one like that, but still have to pick it up.  It's far.
