Picked up this E code a couple days ago, its not in the best shape, needs a bottom cooking grate and a charcoal grate, and could use a new handle.

The age guide says they switched to aluminum door and legs in 83-84. This one has the aluminum parts.

Thanks for looking, I will post more pics if I ever get time to clean her up

Man, you are really harvesting some grate stuff!
Beer! It's what's for dinner...

I wish I could have got this one cheaper, but I didn't want to end up missing out on it. Paid 90

Still a solid deal. That thing is going to be a great cooker!

My other one works really good, how does everyone else run their vents? I've had a hard time getting it over 225 with all vents open. I'm not sure how accurate my probe is but its somewhat close. If I crack the lid I can get up to 275. If I ever find a cheap newer one I will probably add another vent and a hinge, but I don't really wanna put holes in either of these that I have

I have no problem getting that thing has hot (or not) as I want. Lots of tricks you can do...more lit coals (but not too many) for starters. I'll usually leave all the bowl vents open until I get close to temp...then I start closing them down slowly until I can keep it steady.

The 18 doesn't really need a hinge IMHO. The 22 on the other hand absolutely does.

Somewhere to sit the lid would be nice, I've been bringing out the jumbo Joe, then putting the midsection and lid on it while I light the coals. Then use it to sit the lid on when I'm taking the meat off the grill.
A lid bale type of thing would be nice
