advice for a new owner of an original Master touch

I've inherited an original Master touch 22 inch grill (as far as I can tell from resources I found here on this site). The ash catcher is rather loose and there is no handle connected to the bottom vent. The legs do not appear to have the slots for the new ash catcher. I don't know if the new Weber 7444 22-1/2-Inch One-Touch Cleaning System Kit will fit my grill. Can anyone give my advice for 1) getting s handle on the bottom vents and 2) getting the ash catcher more secure?

Converting OTS to OTG

Essentially, you’re gonna need to replace the old ash sweeps and then use some of the methods described in the article to reattach the ash bucket.

There’s an arm under there that attaches to the sweeps and bucket and that’s probably what’s given out to cause it to be loose. Maybe when you get it apart, it could be reshaped and have enough life in it the reuse, and then I think you can just leave off the bottom washer on the new sweeps and be good to go. (Not sure about that, but I think I’ve seen someone do it)
