Any chance you can invite that guy to join WKC, Jim?

I did send him a FB private message, inviting him to join us. I'm not a member of that group.  I was sent that screen shot by a grillfella in Australia of all places.

That looks pretty much just like Ernie's which is from 1955,I believe.....ask @Craig to be sure.....

Evidently the thrift store didn't know what they had. Such an unassuming epic piece.

Just think about all the people that probably walked past it at the store.

I remember that kettle from the 2017 WKC calendar.  Yes, @einrej identifies his as a 54-55 Weber.  I will change the subject title.

The best foto from the Fathers day Auto show in Wautoma, WI. My 54-55 Weber with a 57 Ford Fairlane. Hope to make the 2017 Weber Kettle Club Calendar. I need some Photo Shop help with the guy by the tree.
Thanks,
E

Is it supposed to have a triangle? Or were those a later addition?

No triangle on these early models it appears.  Both of these examples do not have triangles or ash pans.

That's pretty freakin sweet.
What is something like that worth to a Weber purist?

It looks in really good shape to me.  I wonder if the red cap on the front leg is original & given that the early wheels were red, it makes sense that the cap might have been red too.  If it is not original, it makes you wonder where the heck would you find a replacement cap that happens to be red?

Hal

Red was the original color for leg caps.

Obviously looking for a Glen Blue (who isn't?😂).

Looking for anything Happy Cooker, including any re-branded as Montgomery Ward.  I've amassed a nice collection, but I'm missing a few still.  Let me know if you can help a fella out🤞

I was wondering about that.  I can't believe the leg cap could survive that long as well.

At the end of the day, it's undeniable: that guy is about to get PAID.
