Look what arrived today - long distance rescue!
« on: June 07, 2013, 03:16:31 PM »
Wow - what is this. A package from "down under" what could it be ?

Weber wok from a bygone era?

Colorful box

Bonus from a friend.

Carbon steel wok that has never been used

A super big thank you to Golly. He has been working on this for me the past 1.5 months or so. Can't wait to try some recipes from the cookbook as well. This is a great site and a great bunch of guys and gals that have the same passion about Weber kettles and accessories. Thanks again Golly - I hope I can return the favor soon.

Welcome to the small sub-club of original wok owners...... 8)

Golly's totally right on, esp. for this one !!!!!

Are these still available in OZ as a "new" item....or has this been sitting in the box since the 1960's?

Golly's bonus kettle cookbook has some cool wok recipes. I was really excited to see the wok, but Golly really out did himself with the bonus :)
This book has a lot of cool recipes and pics.

That is cool.  I have the discontinued Weber aluminum Wok for the 22.5 kettle.  It's been awhile since I used it though.  Enjoy yours.

These woks are cool. The brackets allow them to be used on both 18 and 22 in kettles. These are rare, and to find one new in the box is even rarer. This was posted on eBay a few times with no buyer. I think original ad said no shipping or preferred pickup, but Golly was able to get them to ship to him.
My wife is from Shanghai so I have someone to help with technique.

Glad it arrived safely
I never looked at it when it got sent to me
The seller did a great job of boxing up
All I did was cut a slot and slide the book in
No probs in aquiring it and forwarding
That's what I love about WKC
To get this to happen elsewhere would be like pulling teeth
Here it is smooth sailing
Now lets see some food pics
GET ON THAT SHIT
WONT TAKE NO FOR AN ANSWER

Planning on next weekend for the wok. May even throw in a recipe from that fantastic book you sent me. There are several wok recipes in it.
