New to me H code 26. She's a beast! Waiting for a charcoal grate, cannot wait to cook on her. Thanks Brandon @Grill Giant!

@Fat Tony where are you getting a charcoal grate for this?  Is the charcoal grate on these 80s 26ers the same as those from the 60s and 70s?  I have one charcoal grate that's on its last legs...beautiful 26er, love the handles, and you will absolutely love the 26er!  Congrats!

Thanks!  I ordered both grates from Weber. Cooking grate arrived the day after I ordered. Charcoal grate coming this week. They are "vintage" size grates, 24.75" for the cook grate and 19.5" I think for the charcoal. These are smaller than the new ones. I already have a 2015 26 and love cooking on her, however, her days may be numbered here.

@Fat Tony  - Could you post the part #'s for both the cooking and charcoal grates you ordered and received please?  For years it has been circulated here on the Forum that Weber no longer carried the grates for vintage 26ers.

I'd love to have a birth year ketlle. 1970 might be a little hard to acquire.

Wow! So we can get the vintage 26 grates from Weber again?

Congrat's on the score BTW! The 80's 26's have some beefy lids. I find them significantly heavier than vintage ones or even the newer 26.75 lids.

Nice looking.

I was under the impression you couldn't get the old grates anymore, so it is nice to know they are still available (I have two 26" kettles from the 1970's, a brownie & a black).

Hal
