Hey everyone,

I just scored this happy cooker kettle on the side of the road. It's got a few dings and the legs were shot, so I put on a set from a premium that I had laying around, fit like a charm!

. Anyone have good or bad experiences?

It's missing the 3 damper plates on the bottom, anyone know if oem weber will fit?

I'd like to get this bad boy heated up this weekend after I grab a new top grate!

Grate score man. It will cook good I'm sure. I'm no expert so can't help in the dampers.

Does it have the internal ash pan?

Yes, the internal ash pan was there, just not the grate and damper wheels

I'm pretty sure I have three HC bowl dampers for you.

Grate save, awesome score!!!  As a HC collector, I'm glad to see another one get rescued.  Looks like you got some Weber wheels on 'er.  Were the HC wheels crumbling apart?  Sounds like Charlie has you covered with the dampers already.  If not, shoot me a PM.

Obviously looking for a Glen Blue (who isn't?😂).

Looking for anything Happy Cooker, including any re-branded as Montgomery Ward.  I've amassed a nice collection, but I'm missing a few still.  Let me know if you can help a fella out🤞

That's the treasure!  5 years of collecting in Vegas, I'm yet to see a Happy Cooker and get it's sweet ash pan!  Great rescue!

My Happy Cooker had an incredibly thick top grate.  I also thought it was extremely clean, especially as it did not appear to be plated.  I assumed it was the original grate and that perhaps they made them extra thick.  Just today, I wondered if maybe it is a charcoal grate for a 26 because that is probably about the right size.

Wondered if @brewtownbeatdown found any HCs with an extra thick top grate.
regards,
Hal

I have a couple with the THICK porcelain coated grates.  The later production, hinged lid models came standard with 'em.  The grate could be purchased separately, for $24.99 ('85).

MINE is a hinged model.  But, I swear it looked like plain steel.  Maybe I'll have to go traipse out and take a look.  (I haven't used it for anything other than storing stuff accessories inside it so far).

If you have a hinged lid w/ wood handles, then it wouldn't be porcelain coated.  Hurried my reply & kinda forgot about that.
