I know this has probably been asked a million times, but if you'd have yer d'rathers, which do you prefer to grill and why? Spares or Baby Backs?

I'm torn between the two. BB's have more meat and great flavor, at least around here, but the flavor and texture of regular spares if I can find them with meat still on the bones... yum. Bottom line, I like them both.
Multiple kettles and WSM's. I am not a collector, just a gatherer... and a sick bastard.

If I'm choosing, it's spares, with the tips left on. Otherwise, it's spares, with the tips cooked separately, and I like to eat the tips myself, and share the ribs with my family.

I like the happy medium, St Louis cut sprees. Readily available here in Petaluma CA.
22.5 Performer Deluxe, Chargriller Outlaw, Smokey Mountain 22, Smokin-it #3,
Camerons stovetop smoker
More Lodge cast iron than I will ever admit to

Back ribs for me...And I like to pick out the ones without the thick loin meat left on the narrow end...It gets too dry before the ribs are done...

St Louis Spares for me. This year I'll try to do my own trimming on the full slab.

I agree. I love them both. I buy whole spares and separate the tips before cooking. I probably lean towards spares but I love baby back as well.

Spares for me except when Tami comes home with BB then I cook those
Seeking a Black Sequoia I know I know, I'd settle for just the tabbed no leg grill

I'll take whichever ones are on sale!

I love spares with the tips left on, but around here, they sell them "trimmed" anymore. And charge twice the price for it! Bastards. Let me have the ribs with tips, and I'll do my own trimming thank you. I have good knives and know how to use them...

I like them about the same but I tend to buy spares since it's usually much cheaper.
