Saw this on a box today.  Does the vent really look like this now?

Nope. I just bought my 2013 OTG two weeks ago and the vent handle stands straight up.
2009 Weber Spirit E310, 2013 22.5 OTG and a bunch of Weber stuff
I like my Weber's the same as my Ford's and Harley's, any colour, as long as it's black.

DOH! I just put my glasses on and the picture shows it straight up as well. So I'm not sure what you mean. I'll just slink back under my bag of briquettes.....

Etruax Are u referring to not having the plastic tab like the performers?

G$

I am confused to.  In the cruddy picture on the box the tab looks wide and flat, possibly having a cover on it and maybe interfering with one hole.  Not your normal 90 degree bend.

Duke

It looks the same to me, but the reflection might make it look different.

I think it's the reflection throwing it off.

I did notice the new ones have individualized serial numbers. I wold think that would be a whole lot of record keeping, but they must think it is worth it.

I had to look at this pic a couple of different times.  At first, I saw the same thing you did.  After the 3rd time opening this thread, I finally see what everyone else does - a normal vent.  The reflection in the porcelain helped zero it in for me.
I've always had gas...  And now a bunch of kettles because of this place.  Thanks!

Ah, I see the reflection.

It's an optical illusion....I thought it was flat and cruddy, now I see the normal vent...

Yeah, you can see the reflection:

Now that you drew the outline I can no longer see it wrong.
