Cold smoker question
« on: November 26, 2018, 03:34:17 PM »
I am wanting to make a cold smoker to smoke stuff like cheese and homemade sausages. I will be smoking the sausage just to get some smoke flavour, I won’t be “cooking “ it. I will be using my a-maze- n smoker as the smoke generator. The temperature will not get any higher than 80 degrees, but probably less than that. Last few times I used my UDS but it was too small and I had to do several batches. Would it be ok to use plywood for the box of the smoker. I most certainly would not use it for a hot smoker because of the glues holding the plys together but would it be fine for a cold one.

I don’t see why not. You could probably use a cardboard box.

However, I’d probably just use pine 1x. For a long term. It’s lighter and would look cool.
