The answer is handle its definitely the handle.
When putting the pizzaque on the platinum deluxe kettle I said hmm I bet that handle would get hot... i will put it in the back. Then of all things i liked the way the COVER LOOKED with it turned to the front.
Fast forward a month and I forgot to turn it back around before starting the pizza cook. I even smelled it and checked the lid bale roller and didnt see anything and thought maybe it was something on my stone. Nope it was the handle... boo
Now go forth and laugh at my stupidity... you are welcome.
