Amazing how Paradise went through hell but the stupid kettle looks fine

A little rain and a bit wind has helped clear the air here in the valley, but now they have to brace for mud slides

Dude, relax your chicken.

I was in Paradise about ten days before this devastating fire burnt through town and was able to buy this '73-'74 18" in fabulous condition. I had never been in that city before, but it was beautiful. I bought it from an older gentleman, and hope he is well. So many dead and missing. It's all so sad, and to those not from the area, the air impact ranged for hundreds of miles for weeks.

This is all that's left of this grillfellas home and Weber in Paradise.  The guys name is Brian Alderman and he is a Captain with Cal Fire.  He has been on the fire line fighting the Camp Fire even though he lost his home.  This is the case with most of the personnel from the local Fire Departments, Paradise Police Department and California Highway Patrol.

After posting this photo on the Facebook site Weber Kettle Fans, Weber got in touch with him and has offered to replace his Performer free of charge.

Here is a link to his Facebook post.

Here are the sobering statistics currently on the Camp Fire:

81- fatalities

870 people still missing

13,503 residences destroyed

153,336 acres burned

80% contained

Talk about a true Hero - battling fires to save others while his own home was burning down. Just incredible.

Good on Weber for stepping up and replacing his performer. A small gesture that likely had a big impact.

You see television interviews with many people that escaped or courageously assisted with evacuating people from this fire.  You rarely see interviews with any first responders because even though they too may have lost their homes in this fire, they are still out there performing their duties.

That man is a true hero. Good on Weber as well for that offer.

Such a terrible loss all around.  Now the poor guy just needs somewhere to put it.  Homelessness is spreading in that area.  I need to remember to rake the woods when I go back to the cabin.

More TV News video showing the devastation in Paradise, CA and there's the red Weber kettle looking like it's just another day.
Thanks to the Fireman. Looking at the picture you can see the hard work these guys do all loaded up with there heavy suits and gear. They were saving houses for over a week straight out here.
