Alright, so here's how the deal went down...or almost didn't...
I went up to the house and knocked on the door. The lady of the house answered. I told her that I was driving by and saw that brown grill and that I admire it because I collect them. I said that I don't have a brown one and asked if she would consider selling it?
She said it was her husband's and probably not, he's had it a long time.
I said well what if the price was right? She said she'll ask her husband...
She came back and said that it wasn't for sale. He had had it a long time and wants to keep it.
I said that I understand that but if he changes his mind would it be alright to leave my name and number? She said yes. I wrote it down and also wrote down what I would offer for it.
I planned to feal the situation out and maybe start with a $50 offer and go as high as $100 if they were willing to sell. I had $110 in my pocket.
But... since they said "no" I wrote down $150.
She said thanks, have a nice day and I walked back to my car disappointed.
I didn't even get in back in the car and she came back out and said that he would let it go for $150.
I said, well I don't have that much but I'll go get it and be RIGHT back and I hauled a** to the nearest ATM.
When I came back
I told her that I hate to take it because he had it so long and asked if he was sure? Which I was... a little. She said yes. I payed her, loaded it up and grinned all the way to the carwash. [emoji846]
