I've been searching for a green or red 18" Outrider to serve as a tailgating/camping grill due to limited space. I Finally ran across this green Outrider that I believe was underpriced even though it looks like it has some rust on the lid and a few nicks to the porcelain.
I was the first to message the FB marketplace seller. It's being mailed to me and I have my fingers crossed it arrives in decent shape to still cook with.

One can spend a lot of time using foam and bubble wrap when packaging a kettle trying to protect the porcelain finish. Sometimes, this can be the real deal breaker when asking a seller to ship one. Back then, Weber just used one layer of cardboard between lid and bowl to protect them during shipment. I'll report back when it arrives as I just gave simple instructions. Just toss it inside a cardboard box and slap the shipping label on it. After all, it's gonna get kicked around to games and campgrounds.

Grate score. Under priced, that was right on target. Congrats.

That's a steal!  I think @CatskillSmoker is the only one with a green jumbo I'd ever seen though Harris probably has one hidden away too. Fingers crossed it ships without issues.

That'll be a fun little cooker.

I've received tracking conformation that it's arrived. Looking forward to unboxing it tonight finding out what condition it's in and what date code this green Outrider is in.
The research here says they were produced from 1990-2006 and only in Blk, Red & Green. The grates are not interchangeable with the 18.5" Kettles as these grates on the Outriders are 17 7/8"

If you find the need, Weber still carries new cooking grates for the Outriders.  The part number is #66913.  I have ordered several of them and can verify they are the correct size.

Congrats on the safe new arrival to the family! Same year as mine/

Killa Grilla makes a one sided flip grate for the outrider, GET ONE!!!! Then if those rusty grates aren't to far gone soak them in evapo-rust and wash them and you're good to go. Pay special attention to the lid bale and leg holes, moisture tends to hide there. Both of mine have rust holes.

Grate score!    I seen the post, wish I would have asked to ship it. I was more than 5 hour one way

Wish I was closer to just make the drive and pick it up for the asking price of $20. After paying for FedEx shipping and giving seller some extra cash for his time. I'm in it for $120 now and that's back when I thought it was in rough shape with dents and rim rash.
Now that I have it and can clearly inspect it, it was worth the gamble. The only porcelain loss is to the bowl where the legs bolt on. Usual place to see chips. The lid is near perfect, no dents or rim rash and the wood handle looks new. Not much cooking residue inside the kettle, might have just been used a hand full of times and always dry stored. It's weird how the sellers original photo made it look a lighter green color.
I'll spend some time Monday cleaning her up.

Well that didn't take anytime to clean. Most of the residue washed off with hot soapy water.

Inside bowl has a few rust spots.
