IMHO: faded black.  Have never seen any light speckling in true gray kettles.  I’ve found a few parts kettles that have had that much fading, while being perfectly uniform

Obviously looking for a Glen Blue (who isn’t?😂).

Looking for anything Happy Cooker, including any re-branded as Montgomery Ward.  I’ve amassed a nice collection, but I’m missing a few still.  Let me know if you can help a fella out🤞

It's worth a look. Ask the seller to dab some cooking oil on it.

Look at the lid handle.  To me it definitely looks like a second color (grey) was applied over the original black application. You see this on the handles of colored 18" MBH's.  There is dark black porcelain bleeding through the edges of the handle.  If it was a faded black, I don't think you would see this bleed through.

What do you think?

The light speckling (telltale sign) makes me think faded.  However, I’m gonna second guess myself, just because I’ve never noticed a clear reflection in a WW.  Could this be a Gray that is beginning it’s fading?

First impression was it was a gray. I’m sticking with that.
