SJ question
« on: June 01, 2013, 02:05:35 PM »
Anyone know when weber went from this style legs to the newer style

This is a 91 model
Also should there be an ash tray where the legs meet under the vent?

I'm only 2 or 3 kettles away from being that creepy guy down the street with all the Webers

You're missing the ash pan. The legs slide into a notch on th bottom of the pan. Not sure of the style change\date.  8)

That's a nice looking SJ.  I pretty sure the ash pan is no longer available from Weber.

Do you need a picture of one to make another?

I have two SJs with K vent covers. One (an SJS) I bought new and it had legs like that and the other (an SJG) I bought used and it had the more modern flat legs. I'd guess they switched over in the ate 80s ( K => '88)
kettles, smokers...

I also have an N-code SJ with those legs on it.  Guess they weren't done then, but that's gotta be pretty near the end.
Interested in ANY offset handle SJs you may have.
