Yesterday I had a conversation with
@Mike in Roseville about how I was looking for a cheap Homer Simpson grill to turn into a dedicated pizza/rotisserie cooker. (I'm fond of the yellow grills). Later that night I found a local fire pit for $30 but I couldn't get out to the seller, so he decided to move on. Bummed, I randomly searched CL in WA (family is local) and decided to work my way south. I saw and ad (2 hours old) for a yellow $10 kettle and my jaw dropped. I contacted the seller telling myself it was already gone and was surprised when I got a response to call back in the morning. In the morning, I called back twice and was refreshing the familiar places hoping not to see my little secret go public. I finally spoke with the seller and he told me he had a lot of other interest but I was first. He was very patient with me as I couldn't travel till after my kids dental appointment. He even tried talking me out of traveling 2 plus hours to pick it up. The drive was good, (got there around 3 and made it back at 5 something) and he was very nice. He had me check it out to make sure I wanted it and I handed him a $10 bill and packed it in the convertible PT Crusier (wife had my Tahoe). It sat shotgun on the way home and tomorrow will get a good cleaning. It's a little out of round and the triangle is tied to the front leg (it was installed upside down) hopefully I'll get those issues corrected. It will probably turn into my Winter restore project, but I'll get a few cooks on it before starting. Kettle Karma is alive and well.
