Ranch with Slow N Sear
« on: September 08, 2018, 06:14:32 AM »
So I recently got a ranch back in my lineup and already had a Slow N Sear XL for my 26. So I picked up a second XL so I can use 2 in the ranch. They’re a fantastic fit and look like they should hold a perfect amount of charcoal for this big mutha.  Since the ranch charcoal grate has no supports, the weight needs to be evenly distributed from side to side. Otherwise the grate tips. So I believe 2 is a must, or counterweights would be needed. So this begs the question, how could the huge ranch version of the Slow N Sear work?  No disrespect to the ABC BBQ company, but it seems like the weight would be a problem. Does anyone have the ranch version?  I’d be interested in your thoughts.

Nice add on for a 22, but I absolutely love it with my 26.

I don't have an SnS, but when I load half my RK grate down with charcoal, I put a brick under the grate to keep it from dipping.

I love the setup you have there w/ 2 SnS XL’s!  How many inches of grate space do you have between the 2 SnS’s?  Seems like there isn’t anything you could not cook with this setup :)

About 18” inches between the SnS’s.  So you’ve got about 18” by 36ish” of indirect cooking space.
