Hey guys, recently I saw a picture of a nice vent setting marker, looked to be out of aluminum, riveted to the ash catcher.  Anyone know what I am talking about?  Are they available for sale somewhere?

That's mine. I'll look for the thread about it.

I can send you the file if you want to order. Last time I got one, the one in the pic above, it was 2 @ $75usd with tax and free shipping.

At one point, @Troy was going to look into some heat proof stickers, but I think these were impossible to find.

Awesome, thank you!  Just checked out that other thread, and yeah, 35/40 seems a bit steep!  I wonder if I could could one of these myself, not sure how I could do that infill color though.  hmmm.......

It is functionally no different than sharpie marks.

Seems like it wouldn't be hard to produce and there could be a lot of demand. There sure were a number of folk interested in these on the other thread.

I'm surprised Weber doesn't engrave the ash catcher rings with this.

Functionally, no maybe not, but certainly much better looking.

...is that setup somewhere that I missed?

You have to drill two holes to attach this gadget. Being cheap, I would just drill 3 small holes at the 1/4, 1/2, and 3/4 marks, and trust that I could remember that full left is closed and full right is open. Then I would spend the money I saved on charcoal.
