Large Skillet (20”) on a Kettle?

I keep wanting to try out a large skillet like the Bayou classic 20" on a Weber Kettle.  Just looks so useful and could be used as a griddle, used for searing, and maybe used for frying fish or chicken outside  (maybe?).   Just wanted to check and see if anyone had any advice or could share their experiences.

Will the lid close on a 20" skillet?  It has the double loop handles so it appears that it would.

If you have done this what size skillet / grill combo do you recommend?  20 on a 22? 17 on an 18? 12 on a 14?

Any specific product recommendations?  The 20" skillets I've located that have the double loop handles are the Cabela's and Bayou Classic.  Again I'm assuming the lid will close over the double loop handles.

Or just stick with the 12" lodge that fits in the GBS perfectly

Might be a tight fit with the handles protruding... I don't own one, but I'd suggest getting a measurement from handle to handle. I had to do that with my paella pans.

You might want to consider a 17" Lodge skillet for a 22" kettle.

Here is mine and the kettle lid will fit as normal no problem.  Great keeping the mess outside for fried chicken.
Been able to fit 16 drumsticks in it at one time.

I've got a 20" CI Skillet that I use on my 26er.  It's too big for my 22.

I ended up getting the Lodge 17" on sale.  How many coals do you use under a 17" pan to get the oil around 325-350.   FYI the 17" is currently on sale at WM for $39
