Slow n sear 2.0
« on: June 17, 2018, 06:25:57 PM »
Has anyone tried the 2.0yet?

I got a Amazon gift card for Father’s Day and was all set to buy one and now you can only get a riveted one with removable water pan.

Not liking the design or build and wonder if anyone has tried it.  Looking like I’ll keep my fire bricks and foil and consider a vortex.

Thanks!

If it doesn't appeal to you, I'm not sure what anyone else would be able to say about it to change your mind? I have no dog in this fight, but would like to note that the alternatives you mention aren't competitors, rivets or not.
It's the iconic symbol for the backyard. It's family/friends, food and fun. What more do you need to feel everything [is] going to be all right. As long as we can still have a BBQ in our backyard, the world seems a bit of a better place. At least for that moment. -reillyranch

See Baby Back Maniacs review of the 2.0 with Dave from ABC. I have the original and love it. I think I’d like the 2.0 better because of the extra searing capacity when the water reservoir is removed.

Received my 2.0 and it feels pretty solid and I like the design since it’s gonna get more use for searing and I like the bigger sear zone. I use the Vortex occasionally and really like it mainly for chicken wings but I personally will use the slow and sear much more then the Vortex.  There both good IMO.  Enjoy whichever one you get.

I really dig mine, I would LOVE to be able to remove the reservoir though.  I don't use water for my cooks.

Got mine #137 of 200.
Love it so far. Have done Ribs,
A pork butt and a turkey so far.
And a reverse prime ribeye,
I’m thinking about selling my WSM I like it so much. Quality is absolutely great as far as I can tell
