Himalayan Salt Block

Hi everyone, I was given a Himalayan salt block this weekend. I am wondering how I should be using it? I would assume I need to let it heat up slowly like I do with a pizza stone. Do I need to salt and season steak before cooking on it? What is the advantage of using one?

I wasn't clear on how much or how little to season (with salt) you should or should not do with these?

I would think the block replaces any salt you'd season with?
It's the iconic symbol for the backyard. It's family/friends, food and fun. What more do you need to feel everything [is] going to be all right. As long as we can still have a BBQ in our backyard, the world seems a bit of a better place. At least for that moment. -reillyranch
