Structo, Buddy L, CharBroil ????

 I had to pick it up yesterday as I have never seen one like it. No markings that I can see so far. Can anyone identify this kettle? 

Not a 22". More like 24" kettle. The Cooking grate is about 1" dia. larger than 22" weber. Wondering if Structo kettles are also larger than Weber 22".  Metal bowl and lid handle, the most elaborate lid hindge system, and the internal charcoal/ash pan are all unique and interesting.









Hoping someone can identify this kettle.  Thanks in advance.

Neat cooker! I like the hinge system. Looks like whoever made it kind of lacked on the crossmember support. Is that an air flow damper at the bottom?

Hey Dan.  Glad you did pick ‘er up.  It’s definitely a cool kettle.  Now that you got  more pics, I think we might be able to figure this out...

Specs sound an awful lot like what you have, except your’s appears to be steel instead of aluminum.  Then there’s the shape:

Same die set could be used for steel & aluminum sheet. 

These images are out of a Sears “Barbequing For You” pamphlet from 1967:

Which also happens to be the same as the Structo “Barbequing For You” pamphlet:

Not a four legged model, but a couple things lead me to believe you have a sweet Structo kettle in your stable: that shape, the hinge system, & those Structo style wheels (w/ white pushnuts).

The pamphlet that I have is copyrighted 1967.  I’d think that the metal handles probably mean prior to that.

@brewtownbeatdown- Wow! fantastic investigative work. Yes! The shape of the kettle looks the same and the larger 24" kettle supports the thinking that this maybe from the same manufacture or at least from same stamping plant.  Cooking grate looks the same and bottom vent leaver looks similar ( mine has wood handle). Also, interesting to note that mine is steel as you mentioned, hinged lid, and top lid and bottom center vents.

Looking at pics with redwood leg support/bot. table..... I am suspecting that mine could have come with wood table/triangle. The triangle and wheel axle assy. the way it is looks way to weak.

hinged lid from the back side


From the bottom up.  It looks like originally avocado green color changed to orange.  Center bot. vent with wooden handle lever.


After  brewtownbeatdown helpful post, I am suspecting it might have come with wooden triangle support from the factory. As is... yes it looks very weak on support.

Also, looking at the bot. center vent ( same shape hole where the lever goes thru.) .... I would say the lid center vent also had a lever with possibly a wooden handle that got lost along the way.

Charcoal holder/ash pan.


Ash pan just sits on the bot. ridge.


cooking grate sits on top ridge.


Center lid vent looks like missing a lever.


@kettlebb- yes I will be cooking on this as soon as I fix up couple things and clean the inside at least.
