Chicken Karaage
« on: April 09, 2018, 06:43:30 AM »
Sorry, just a couple of pictures of this cook for Sunday snacking.  Essentially the Japanese version of chicken nuggets.

Chicken thighs, skinned, deboned, cut into bite size pieces.  Marinated with grated ginger and garlic, mirin, sake, white pepper, and soy sauce.  Rolled in flour and deep fried.

The dipping sauce is simply Japanese kewpie mayo mixed with Korean red pepper flakes (gochugaru).

Super simple appetizer.

Just came here to say that blue wok station still freaks me out.
It's the iconic symbol for the backyard. It's family/friends, food and fun. What more do you need to feel everything [is] going to be all right. As long as we can still have a BBQ in our backyard, the world seems a bit of a better place. At least for that moment. -reillyranch

Haa haa @JEBIV - I exactly what you mean when it comes to Charlie :).
May be putting the cardboard on "Direct" heat will help in cooking process - What you say ?
