The SSP was generation 1 which began in 1990 and generation 2 began in 2005, so it looks like 1990-2004 unless they had no performers for a time period.

For $80, I'd get it if it is in good shape.  I have an 1997 red SSP & I like it.  Haven't used the gas assist yet because I just have used a charcoal chimney, but I've only had it since right before Christmas.

Hal

That one has some issues. It's missing the side panel and lid bale, and it looks like the front handles on the cart were cut off. That said, I would  pick it up if it were closer.

Missing the charcoal bin too.
But if the bowl and lid look good I would still grab it to drop in a different frame.

Is that blue duct tape on the lid rim? I also like how the bungie board securing the regulator and tank matches the bowl color.

I wasn't looking for a blue performer when I got mine. I wanted green. But now that I have it and see that it isn't as common I'm glad I went with it. For $80 if the bowl/lid are good it's worth it for those alone.

Thats a Taco handle on the Lid.  Not "Stock" for an SSP of that era.   I swapped out a black SSP with GA for a new Blue warranty swap with a local Grill fella last fall.  The New BLUE in the OLD frame looks spectacular.  For 80 bucks... I'd offer 60 and run... :D  Just sayin'

Lets just say I have acquired a few Kettles.  Big and small.   Vintage and New...  Some say I have a problem.  I find the Kettle, buy the Kettle, USE the Kettle...No problem...

Nah, look again, that’s a period-correct lid thermo. (And the curved white handle puts that somewhere around 2000-2004.)

Bottom line, it's gonna cook just fine... 8) Good deal.
Multiple kettles and WSM's. I am not a collector, just a gatherer... and a sick bastard.
