Grilled portobello burgers
« on: March 31, 2018, 04:40:26 AM »
I wanted to try something different. I followed this recipe https://www.skinnytaste.com/the-best-grilled-portobello-mushroom/ and it was delicious! I didn't have onions, tomatoes, or avacado, but I can imagine how delicious it would have been. I didn't take a picture but I melted the cheese on the mushrooms on the grill. Also used Hawaiian rolls. Now I know what to make for my vegetarian neighbor the next time we have a cookout.

I’m not a big mushroom fan but that looks pretty good. Healthy too...

I love doing portobello burgers.  @mhiszem My kids don't like mushrooms either, never will understand that.

The marinade makes it less mushroom tasting in my opinion. I think if the burger were fully loaded with onions and avacado and whatever else then the mushroom taste would be hardly noticed.

Sorry to hear about the bread. Gluten I assume is the problem? That's a good I deal to use mushrooms instead. I was going to suggest replacing buns with burger patties lol
