I'm sure I could figure something out, but if anyone is in the mood, I'm looking to modify a 22" Slide Aside to fit on an 18" Kettle.

Length of wire bale
Length of stainless steel support

Thanks in advance!

The arched area is 23.25" counting to the outer edge of the radius going to the lid roller. Lid roller is 2.5" from the kettle bowl to outer arch. Support bar is 7.5 inches from the lower bend to the center of the hole the wire goes through. hth.

I'm pretty sure the Slide Aside is designed to fit and be used on both the 18" and 22" kettles.  Here are photos of it on both an 18" and 22".  I got it specifically to use with my 18" cooker. It works great.

I presumed we were talking about the "tuck-away" lid holder on the performer and 18" OTP

I'm talking about the Master-Touch style lid bail

I know I've seen people modify the 22" to fit an 18".

np. @tag me or fb message me for faster response. Oh, and that 23.25" measurement is along the curve/circumference of the bail.

Ah the bale!  I too was thrown off by the "slide aside."  Wow, I would love to see a bale modified to fit an 18!  Good luck!  Post pics!

I took some pictures of the lid bale from my former 18.5 OTP and uploaded them to a google album.  I also have a 22.5 lid bale if you want to see side-by-side pics.  Would have posted sooner, but the "slide aside" terminology threw me . . .
