I've been researching reviews on the new kettle (22") and have been seeing quite a few saying the kids for the most part are made w a thinner sheet metal this not holding up as well as previous models/years, along w welds coming apart...

Any body here w new vs old able to weigh in?
Obviously EVERYTHING these days is made cheaper to an extent...

If this has been covered already, point me to the thread...

Pros and cons to both new and old imo. I wouldn't hesitate to buy a new kettle if that's what I wanted.

Look. Thinner means nothing. It is a completely different grade of steel to what was used before. Where I work, we make the steel for Weber. It is good, very good.
