I found this on Let Go yesterday. It had been listed over a month so I wasn't holding my breath. I messaged her and she still had it. I set up a meeting for after work and headed over to her place. It was a kind of rough area of town. The grill was around back, full of spent charcoal, grease, and a small charred chunk of 2x4. No ash pan in sight, and the wire lid lock was off and had been stomped into the dirt all bent up. But the grill was only $5 so I grabbed it and ran.

I cleaned it up, switched to all stainless steel hardware, pounded out some dents where the lid handle had been bent, did my best to straighten the wire lid lock, swapped the top vent with an extra new one I had, and got an idea. All of the silver parts were rough looking and not cleaning up too well so I decided it was going to be a murdered out JJ. I got busy with some 1200* semi-gloss black and several coats later here she is. I still need to order an ash pan. I think I'll take her for a spin tomorrow, looking forward to it.

Very nice restore (as always) @Rub . I was looking at it long time back, but then with outrider decided not to invest in this.  I guess it was waiting for new life from you :).

Thanks guys. I'm open for suggestions on a nickname.

I put her to work today. I have a Steak Cookoff Association (SCA) contest in 2 weeks and I'm thinking of leaving my PK at home and bringing this. My timing is a little different than on the PK but not much. Came out OK for the first time. SCA looks for medium doneness, this looks about right.
