"Other People" set my goals. Both at work, and at home.

But sometimes I do have opportunities.

I have a couple grills that I have picked up that I never got to restoring.  So for me it's finishing projects.

Outside of that, my big goal for the year is to be better about rotating grills into the cooking rotation and do more cooks on my classics.
Wanted: Burgundy 18"

I want to finish the two red head gassers I’m currently restoring, then finish my red SSP.

Then, I want to go through all of my collection and downsize a bit. In addition to a few kettles, I have collected a bunch of accessories like NOS shish ring, NIB fireplace, NOS corn n tater ring, etc. I would like to trade most of this for a pristine vintage kettle like a glen blue!

@lightningboldtz
Having owned a Traeger for 10 years, you’ll absolutely love the temperature control and the smoke flavor that comes off this device. However, they are mechanical and will begin to show their age. I was religious in cleaning my grill, yet it began to have issues maintaining temp, no matter the weather. It will not allow you to sear, despite your best efforts.

I’ve placed in all categories of meats at various levels of KCBB competitions. But our most consistent was chicken, nothing cooks chxn better. I sold mine recently and have gone back to my first grill, a weber 22” Performer. I’m like a kid again, I can’t wait to cook on it. The flexibility, availability and mods that we can do to the Kettle is enough to stay.

I’ve saved up enough to buy a Summit, I’m absolutely so ready for that grill to sit next to my Performer. I’m probably going to buy a used WSM for the deer camp and I’m set for grills.

Sorry for the lengthy post, but those are my goals and wanted to address my experience with a pellet smoker. They’re good grills, but do have an abbreviated lifespan compared to most.

I'd like to help some others as I have been helped.
What a great community. I don't even know how many grills I have right now.
The past few weeks have been crazy. I will have to regroup, do some RRR, and get some pictures up.
I went from 3 grills to, I'm guessing, close to 40. Thanks to everyone who has helped me get a bunch of these.

My goal is simple ... I want to move back home to The States and hunt Kettles.
God, I hope someone buys my house this year! I’m too old for this shit here!

Haha @vwengguy .... that's good.
If you can't ship all your kettles back home (USA) ... I am not too far away :-)

Best regards,
Jan

Summit Charcoal for at least $500 off.

Those deals are out there. My local ACE Hardware was clearing out the 2 summit charcoal grilling centers they had b/c the were only going to carry the base model moving forward. Exactly $500 off normal retail. Just lucky I happened to be in there that day.

I have modest goals...I have already scored an Outrider from Kneab and am picking up a blue OTG from Jaynik in a couple of weeks.  That puts me at only 6 total Webers:  a DD Green SSP,  a DR Outrider, a DO Blue OTG, an N code SJ, a Q2000 I bought brand new somewhere around 2006, and a blue Cubs Q1200 I bought last year for $100 new off the Weber site.

I hope to talk my wife into letting me buy more, but right now, she's put the Kibash on further aquisitions.  I am hoping to get a red 18" at some point, and an old-style Weber fire pit, which I have permission from the commander in chief to get if I can find.

So I guess my big goal for 2018, which is actually possible, is to find a fire pit!!

For 2018, my kettle goal that's definitely going to happen, is purchasing a new Weber rotisserie. There's a difference between "wants," and "needs," and my "want," list is more of a wishlist. So, If I never get any of these items, it's really not a big deal and not really a major priority. This is only if opportunity knocks:

Red Outrider
18.5" & 22.5" Happy Cooker internal ash pans
18.5" rotisserie
Euro 47cm GBS Kettle Plus
