A buddy of mine has a beater one touch gold that he was going to add a lid bale to and wanted to remove one of the bowl handles.    It seemed wrong at first but then I thought what's the big deal.

Anyone ever done this?

Go for it why not it's just a beater

some of the blackies I've robbed handle frames off of come off easily, but I've had a couple Red Master-Touches that I mounted in OTP carts were a PITA to remove. one I drilled on the spot welds on the interior of the bowl to wiggle it off but the porcelain damage wasn't worth doing it again and the next one I just sacrificed the handle and took a cutoff tool to it.

I've taken a few handles off. None were easy. If you find a better way post it.
