New red. First time with a lid bale.
I like the look of those leg sockets!

After a quick clean...

Lid just seem in the way...

Burn off the cooties then some thin chops!
45 bucks well spent !!!

What are your other kettles? If you feel like getting rid of it or trading for one without a lid bale let me know. One way around the lid bale is to put the lid on another kettle close by if you have other 22s not in use.

Good tip! The beers might have had something to do with that solution evading me!

There's a newer style bale that brings it more out of the way... i may be wrong but i think they are interchangeable

They are interchangeable. Here's a pic of the new bale on my OTP.

That's good... I can dig on that. Just don't want the lid leaning over the dance floor! Lol.

I like the bail on the performer, seems like a natural with the table to one side.  As for a standalone kettle, I'm indifferent to them .  Nothing wrong with the hook and placing it where you like.  Sometimes I use that as a smoke shield!

So I can understand why you may not care for it.  I agree and there's nothing wrong with that.
