Author Topic: Does anyone know where to get the old smokey joe washers?  (Read 3280 times)

The ones that came with the old kettles that seperated the bowl from the leg. I don't think they were rubber, but they aren''t metal either. I think they are nylon. I will find one and post a pic.

The ones from the Kettles are 1/4" you can get them from amazon @$11 for 100 with free shipping.

Wouldn't nylon melt?  The WSM uses fiber washers and those can be bought at Home Depot/Lowes.
I've always had gas...  And now a bunch of kettles because of this place.  Thanks!

Yeah, the same material as the wsm uses. HD you say? I will need to check there. Any idea what weber calls them?

Fiber Washers ( 8 ) - Part #877301   that's what my wsm manual says.

I think these may be a little smaller than the wsm ones though. They are still 1/4 inch, but look like they aren't as wide. Does anyone have a picture of one from a wsm?

When I did the mods to my WSM, I used the Depot fiber washers between my bolts & WSM body.  They're found in the drawers next to the specialty hardware.  Come in all various sizes too.

I just pickes some up the size say they are. 1/4x 1/2. They look right.

They make a soft buffer between the legs and the bowl to keep from getting chops in the porcelain from overtightening. I just put a set on and they are pretty snug and there's no metal to metal contact.
